To get the most from staff requires regular reviews and
appraisal meetings. A good appraisal is a ‘Festival of
Motivation.’
Overview
Periodic structured reviews present a superb
opportunity to learn from the past and plan the future in a clear
structured manner. Unfortunately, poorly done, these become
administrative chores and pain for both the individual and the
manager/team leader. Lack of clarity is a cause of stress,
de-motivation and lost productivity which is very common and yet
easily prevented by effective reviews. Ad-hoc conversations do not
yield the clarity or full understanding that are possible in a
well executed review. New staff often have wasted time which is
easily prevented by using the new-joiner review. Loss of good
staff is aggravated by poor reviews.
The development of good staff and potential ‘superstars’ requires
regular planned reviews. Effective reviews are a key element in a
good management style.
In this thought-provoking and practical course, participants
learn the key structures, techniques and concepts required to
develop their appraisal interview skills.
