A team is more effective than a group of loners. Often the
‘team’ is more than the figment of the manager’s imagination.
Team Development and managing a team requires special skills.
Overview
A team is not merely a group of people with the name
‘team.’ Teams are usually more productive and effective than a
group of ‘loners.’ They complement each other, support each other
and are creative. Teams may be just for one project or it may be a
departmental team. In managing one-to-one, the manager/team leader
is always 50% of the relationship. In managing a team new skills
are required as the majority of the relationships will not involve
the manager.
Teams can take a long time to evolve. They may evolve ‘rules of
operation’ which impairs success. In the modern fast-changing
environment we need to create effective teams quickly with the
‘rules of operation’ to allow and encourage success.
In this practical and intensive course, participants will learn
the key skills and concepts required to create effective teams
quickly.
